Awesome and very attentive staff. I came to the right place and highly suggest it. They’re really there for you when you need them. If you need to get clean and detox, this is the place. Best of luck in your or your family members recovery.

Bmh is an amazing facility .The staff is absolutely amazing. The groups are fun intuitive but most of all offer emotional support when it is needed the most. the clinicians are awesome and they feel like they are your friends and the food is top notch as well. One thing I found unique and very beneficial is the ability for the groups to runs there own a.a /n.a sessions as well as the guest that they have come in to speak as well . Thank you so much Bmh for saving my life.

I would highly recommend BMH. The staff was amazing, friendly, & professional. Not only do they help you detox and do meetings but also teach you different ways to deal with your stress and anxiety. And educate you about many others triggers and issues that may lead to your addiction. I feel better than I have felt in 20 years and can't wait to start my life sober and happy. I really can't praise them enough!!!

Berkshire Mental Health is absolutely amazing. It truly saved my life, and I know people post things like this all the time but I 100% mean it! They are the only program I know that actually does individualized treatment. In fact, they actually encourage clients to take an active role in their recovery and make decisions about treatment, aftercare, and medication without force or coercion. I felt empowered in my autonomy throughout the entire process. They gave me the basic tools to make clear decisions then trusted me to use those tools as I saw fit. They never forced a decision upon me and gave me the space to come to conclusions on my own and finally take ownership of my own recovery. Finding that ownership is key to maintaining long term recovery because if it doesn’t feel like your choice, it will never stick. In just a short 30 days, Berkshire Mountain Health got me to the point to choose a recovery that was best for me. Furthermore the staff is amazing. They truly do care and as someone who has been through multiple facilities you can trust my word on that. They only want what is best for you and what will actually stick, even if that isn’t the “normal” way of doing treatment. I highly recommend this place to anyone!

I couldn’t have had a better experience at BMH over my 30 days. I came across the country to come here and I felt welcomed and supported the entire 30 days I was here. The individualized care is top notch: vitals are done 4 times a day, nurses on staff 24 hours to support any health needs, and a clinician team that goes over and above to make sure each client is taken care of. The grounds and living quarters are clean and set in a picturesque setting in the Berkshire Mountains. The staff takes clients out on trips, once they have established them selves in the program. Hiking, going to the gym and dinner outings are just a few of the things you can experience, if you work the program properly. I am very grateful for BMH, it helped change my life. Special thanks to Lindsey, Ashlie, AJ, Zoe , Pat and the entire nurse and tech teams. Thank you! - Kevin C.

Berkshire Mountain Health saved my life and set me on a path for a full life. When I arrived, I was lost, scared, broken, and felt little hope for my future, but left strong and able to recover. The house is in good shape on nice green property, nice outside area and in a safe location. House holds about 16 people and the team onsite is quite multidisciplinary (nurses, clinicians, tech, various providers, admin). Rooms are simple, but satisfactory. They are mostly double-occupancy, equipped with TVs. There is plenty of food, mostly catered, A TON OF SNACKS, 2 common living areas (with games, puzzles, art). From the moment I arrived, I felt welcome and cared for. Every staff made me feel seen, heard, and comfortable throughout this difficult process. I, oftentimes heard, it’s all the little things that matter and create your path to recovery. I felt that, every day. I found the team to really make my journey personalized and focused on what worked best for my particular recovery.I stayed for the 30 day program which included a detox and residential component. The detox allowed all substances to leave my system to create a baseline for my recovery. For someone like me, this was tremendously important as I had underlying mental health issues which I masked and self medicated with substances. I was never diagnosed with anything before I arrived, but the close observation, medication management, group sessions, individual sessions, conversations, and multidisciplinary team allowed the team to accurately diagnose me fully and observe me on various medications to ensure an effective dose.In addition to caring, a lot of the staff is in recovery, has a deep passion for it, training, or was touched in some way by addiction. The area that really differentiates Berkshire from other rehabs are the elaborate group session led by folks across disciplines (counselors, speakers, nurses, other staff). The groups were very engaging, educational, based on literature, and most up to date research on mental health challenges and addiction. We learned about our recovery, applied that knowledge, and our solutions felt very personalized to our individual journeys with addiction.Berkshire Mountain Health really focuses on teaching its clients skills: very practical approaches to the challenges of our lives, so that we were set up for success when we faced life on its terms in the future. The approach used is focused around DBT (dialectical behavioral therapy). DBT focuses on helping people accept the reality of their lives and their behaviors, as well as helping them learn to change their lives, including their unhelpful behaviors. Learning this and applying it in various exercises and our own life really gave us an opportunity to react differently in difficult situations. This is more than a detox it is a facility that teaches you to make your life manageable again and respond to life as it comes.I was able to take some of the coping skills, exercises, journaling, reading, meditation, and lessons and incorporate them into my routine at Berkshire.Besides the skills and lessons around coping skills, we had NA and AA speakers, which allowed us to hear stories of survival and people who were in our shoes that we could connect with.I took away a wealth of knowledge, coping skills, a community, and a deep understanding of both what I ws experiencing, my current state, and the necessary steps for my path forward.I, personally, have a deep need to understand why things are the way they are and love delving into topics. EVERYBODY on the staff helped cater to that need to help me proceed with a deeper and quite intense understanding.I developed deep friendships with other folks in recovery and many of the staff members who continue to show up and support me in my recovery.Everyday, I felt like as long as I did my part, folks helped me push me to ensure I was healing. I found this community to be unmatched and look forward to be involved in service i gratitude for saving my life

My experience sending a loved one to Berkshire was nothing short of a RELIEF!!! We had sent my uncle to a few different programs in the New England area that were partially state funded, and while their heart was always in the right place it was the same story every time: no individual attention, impossible to reach anyone for anything, and no help filing FMLA paperwork or aftercare planning. Berkshire was attentive to his needs, gave us (specifically my aunt) some great family counseling, and set him up for success. We appreciate it so much, the difference between state and private is an OCEAN of difference.

The most important thing in recovery is to be honest with yourself. The second most is to be honest with others; so you should trust in that this review is my honest and true opinion. I first went to Silver Hill Hospital in new Canaan Connecticut. Famous people attend this facility, it has a 25 yard heated pool, it has a chef, but if you choose this facilities there’s a very good chance you will relapse…. it only took me two days before I started drinking again. AA was not mandatory, they administered my opiates three times a day as prescribed from the doctor, however part of my problem was opiates. You get the picture.High Watch in Kent Connecticut had 200 people, if you’d like sharing your story with a microphone in front of 200 people go for it..Berkshire Mountain health in great Barrington Massachusetts was a whole different animal. When I counted the clinicians and staff we are almost out numbered a residence that is. The one on one care help me tremendously with my issues. There were several classes a day which instructed us on AA, our health both physically and mentally, meditation, coping skills, I just cannot say enough about this facility. I know many of you have cried out for help and hope and wish that you get better, but I am writing this review right now with tears of hopefulness and joy because of the treatment I received at this facility. I cannot say enough about it, and part of recovery is to help others, which is why I am writing this review. I urge all of you not to be trapped by marketing and advertising of other facilities, I hope that you look into Berkshire Mountain Health so that you can find happiness and sobriety in your journey. I am almost tempted to leave my phone number if anyone has any questions but please feel confident that I am telling you the truth. Just remember you are loved whether you know it or not, and you will feel loved at Berkshire Mountain health I promise you. This is not written by A staff member at Berkshire Mountain health it was written by someone who has age and wisdom at this point and three recoveries under his belt the third of course being the one in which I love and have success that’s far one day at a time.-John B.

I can't speak highly enough of BMH! The entire experience, from the moment I walked in, was fantastic. I’m from the West Coast and felt a little out of place at first but that quickly subsided. Lindsey, Zoe and my therapist Michelle were incredible in giving me the tools and resources for me to continue my sobriety. The Nurses and techs were always friendly and efficient, and were not only knowledgeable but also took the time to address all my questions and concerns. Upon my successful completion of both detox and residency, BMH helped with placing me in a sober house so I can continue my treatment. In the next 60 days I’m doing both my partial hospitalization program and intense outpatient program. That’s just one example of what separates BMH from other treatment centers. I left feeling confident in the care I received. If you're looking for a reputable treatment center with a compassionate staff, look no further than Berkshire Mountain Health.

Love this place I would definitely recommend to anyone .this is my fourth residential stay and it was by far the best I’ve been too.. it’s great on the fact that they only have 16 people max at one time so the education and more one on one feeling is terrific.. counselor s and staff are always around and willing to talk anytime about anything it’s fantastic..The staff , counselor s nurses ,and techs are far beyond friendly and accommodate your every needs .. it’s a homey feeling here the food is great and is extremely comfortable here.. the outside activity s are great went snow tubing at butternut ski mountain, outside dinners ,bowling , movies , outside gym and massages were great.. They helped me get extended stay from 28 to 45 days to help me double down on making sure I was healthy comfortable and making sure I was completely ready to go.. The therapy was great, and the physchiatrist listen to my problems and needs and helped with my medication and made sure my medication needs were met properly before discharge.. I give this place a five star review and would recommend any friend or family member this place if ever needed .. They also helped me with probation and talking to them .. I feel I owe them the world and thank them for giving me life again!!!

Omg. Where to I start? This place has been an absolute blessing for me. This is a very personal review for me to write. But I am honored to share parts of my journey in regard to my addiction and this facility. This was my 2nd inpatient stay with them. The 1st time I left early saying that I was too worried about my job and my home. I didn't listen. I was not putting myself first. I struggled for a long time and kept getting worse. I was afraid to reach out and go back, I was afraid and embarrassed to do so. With the help of some very dear friends, I went back. This time I had it in my brain that I was only going to stay for a 10 day detox. But as the time got closer for my discharge, I was scared to go home. I knew that I would fail in my heart. BMH was right there to help with my job, my home and help with my addiction. The entire staff, as well as Jeff were so professional and caring. Some of them have even been through it themselves. They have a program and it works. They were not only professional, kind and caring, but they also helped me to push my limits, face my demons, fears, lies, and manipulation that comes with this disease. Yes, I am an addict. This program and all the classes gave me so many tools. Helped me to reclaim my spiritualty, taught me so much about coping mechanisms, medications, and how cunning and powerful addiction can be. They made it work for me so I didn't have to worry about home and work and just focus on myself. I am an RN and am very used to putting everyone else first. This place does not care about who you are, what you do or how many times you have failed. They truly want to help, and it shows every day. They are very good and what they do, but also treat you like family. I was there over Christmas and New Years. This was my first time sober in a while. I was celebrating with about 15 other patients that I did not really know. But it really was the best experience. The staff made it so special! Right down to stockings on our doors on Christmas morning, gifts for us under the tree, and bought us an amazing amount of Chinese food just like they had on A Christmas Story. We got to decorate our table and then we all sat together family style. Yup, me and a bunch of strangers who were also addicts. But those strangers became such an important part of my life! BMH makes it so safe for everyone, before you know it.. you are crying and sharing your deepest fears and emotion with a group of people who totally understand you. I am so impressed with this facility that I would love to work there. I know this is long.. but I really want to say THANK YOU BMH! I miss all of you but have shown and you continue to show that you will always be there and supportive for me. So, if you have gotten to the end of this and are struggling, please reach out to them. Their arms are wide open. And that is also a song by Creed that reminds me of this amazing, life changing place.

BMH was and continues to be a lifesaver! The staff is kind and caring from the 3rd party janitor to the Director of Operations. The different clinicians each provide their own unique background / knowledge to achieve and sustain sobriety. The nursing crew and techs are also great people that love what they do. I was originally signed up for 30 days but after discussion with Lindsey, the clinical director, she reached out to my work and insurance and was able to have my stay extended. After you're out of detox and participate in groups with good attitude there's a level 3 program where you get to go on outings. Zoe and the level 3 program are absolutely amazing, we went on beautiful spiritual hikes and to various restaurants for reintegration in to "real world" situations. In conclusion I highly recommend BMH, they are supportive and made my stay enjoyable. Even after discharge they are readily available to answer any questions and just happy to hear from you.

BMH saved me life. I can’t imagine there could be a better clinical staff anywhere else. Each has their own specialty from spirituality and meditation to CBT and DBT. My 28 days were a crash course in getting to know myself again and how to manage my past for a better future. I have never bawled my eyes out and belly laughed so much! The days are full! 4 sessions and a meeting at night. There could be healthier food options and there are no opportunities for physical activity aside from walking the perimeter of the small property. I’d be a little wary in the winter as the facility has an upstairs/downstairs set up and the only stairs are outdoors. I understand they put de-icers on the steps in the winter, but even in the rain I felt a bit unsafe. Staffing could be better as they were short staffed many nights requiring the downstairs people to climb the steps at late hours for assistance or meds. I was told there was a 2:1 staff to patient ratio. Don’t be fooled by that. Maybe they employ 38 people, but with 16 patients there was often just 2 people in staff. This is not a fancy facility. No pools. No spas. No gyms (but extremely clean). I slept on a camp cot, but wouldn’t have traded it in for the world! I gave a 5 star rating because I would never want to deter anyone from this incredibly special place. Are there a few bugs to work out…sure. But as I stated in the beginning, BMH saved my life and I’ll be forever grateful ❤️

Birkshire mountian health is a great place to come to detox and learn about sobriety. The staff welcome you and make you feel comfortable. The facility is small and can accommodate up to 16 residents. You really get to know everyone and build relationships. It is coed with 4 bathrooms. There are shared bedrooms and a few single rooms. They have very good clinicians, Gina rocks and really will dig deep and get out of you what truly makes you tic. All the clinicians have something special about them that they offer, thank you to rosalie, Michelle, zoe and Bobby. The case works are great shout out to Rob for helping me with all my to do lists ands paperwork for work! There are 4 groups a day and an AA/NA meeting at night. The behavior techs and nurses are mostly all friendly helpful as well. Audrey the head nurse will help with anything, she's great to talk to! The food could be improved a bit, more healthful and nutrient rich foods would help. If you stay the 30 days you have the opportunity to go out on outings in the community which are helpful to integrating back into real life. Overall a great experience. Good luck!

There is not a sufficient amount of gratitude that I can expressed for having received treatment at Berkshire Mountain Health. From the moment I walked through the door, I was treated with respect, compassion, and dignity.Having struggled with addiction, I have been to several facilities. Berkshire Mountain surpassed my expectations as the clinical team, education team, and support stuff truly work together to provide what each client needs; many are in recovery themselves. It is not a lockdown facility by any means. Nutritious meals are provided daily in a homestyle setting. Coffee, smoking, and vapes are allowed without limitations.Bedrooms and bathrooms are well equipped and the bed was very comfortable. The nature setting is quite peaceful, yet not in a remote and uneasy way.The facility is in an elementary stage and seems to always be looking for constructive suggestions. I was slightly uncomfortable with the lack of storage for clothing. The closets are currently being used for luggage and bag placement. Pack light!

I'm convinced that this place has magical healing powers.Nestled in a dinky little cottage in the middle of absolute nowhere, this unassuming little place is probably the best thing to happen to me in the last year. I've been to 7 different inpatient treatment centers, and Berkshire is pretty much the only place that actually left me better than they found me. I'm as shy and introverted as it gets, yet the staff here seemed to effortlessly get me out of my shell unlike any other place I've been to. Berkshire unlocked a side of my personality that I hadn't seen in a long time, and even a very short stay here felt extremely revitalizing. My only complaints are: that I couldn't stay there longer, and that they don't seem to have any kind of alumni Facebook page/Messenger group chat (yet!)

I was a resident of BMH for 30 days. It was a positive experience from soup to nuts. The nurses were always willing to help and answer questions honestly. My clinician, Gina was fantastic in educating me about the trauma in my life and how to cope with that trauma. I needed someone to keep my honest and saying she did was an understatement. The case workers dropped everything they were doing to answer questions and advocate on my behalf without reservation. The clinicians made my stay extremely comfortable and were genuinely interested in my recovery. BMH is a class act and they saved my life. I wouldn’t recommend anyone else to lead you in the first steps of recovery.God bless Jeff, Lindsey, Elise, Gina, Michelle, Bobby, Paige, Will, Zoe, Rachel, Paris, Amy, Julie, Julia, Audrey, Stephanie, Chava, Meredith, AJ, David, Maggie, Nikki, Brittany, Jeff, Cory, and Brandon. This place saved my life. I had the safest and best detox. All the nurses and staff care about the clients. Everyone was amazing and really cool. I will never forget the care and love I found there and I will be forever grateful. All the staff went above and beyond for me. I feel like I have a family there forever.

The Staff is absolutely amazing. I’ve never been to a treatment facility prior to my 30 day stay, I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else! Staff is always on point you will DEFINITELY find the help you need. Very consistent 1 on 1 with the clinical team. They helped me in ways I never knew existed. All the education they provide there’s no way to fail! YOU just have to want it. HIGHLY RECOMMEND BERKSHIRE MOUNTAIN HEALTH!!!! There’s not enough stars for this review!

The staff is amazing from the BHTs to the nursing staff and the director of operations they all look at what there doing as much more than a job. I’ve been to other long term and 30 day facility’s and Berkshire Mountain health is by far my favorite stop. If you want to get clean and sober weather it’s for you or someone else until your ready to be clean for you, this is the place. I highly recommend this facility to anyone that’s ready for a new beginning

The moment I walked through the doors, I knew this was a place for healing. From the staff to the accommodations, I would absolutely recommend this facility to anyone who is struggling with substance abuse/alcoholism and wouldn’t hesitate to send a loved one there to get the help they needed. Truly a special place.

I would personally recommend Berkshire Mountain Health to anyone in need of substance abuse treatment. I have known the program director, Lindsey, for a few years now and she is the most compassionate person I know. I am absolutely confident that any client who walks into Berkshire Mountain Health will be treated with kindness, integrity and dignity. The treatment center provided individual care for each client and staff meets client's where they are at in their recovery. I would recommend Berkshire Mountain Health to my own loved ones who want to change their lives.
