Addiction stems from altered pleasure and reward responses in the brain, and it can often be fueled by pain or trauma.[1] Because of this, detoxification alone is not a cure for addiction. It is the first recovery step and requires patience. At Berkshire Mountain Detox, our team knows how hard you must work to overcome addiction.

With our strong support, guidance, and professional care, we make the addiction recovery process more bearable. We create a welcoming, nurturing, and secure environment for you and everyone else who walks through our doors. Our Great Barrington facility serves local residents and people from Falmouth, Worcester, and Eastern Massachusetts. If you are ready to get on the road to recovery, you are probably wondering what to bring to detox.

 What To Leave Behind

Before we delve into what you should bring, it helps to know what not to bring. You may have guessed some of the prohibited items, such as drugs, drug paraphernalia, dangerous devices, weapons, sharp objects, and pornography. These are some lesser-known items that we encourage you to leave at home:

  • Pillows or stuffed animals
  • Clothing with threatening or sexual content
  • Cameras or recording devices
  • Any types of foods or drinks
  • Laundry detergent, fabric softener, and hand sanitizer

Our facility provides you with linen services, nutrition, and other necessities. We reserve the right to confiscate any prohibited items we find.
